BRAINERD, Minn. (AP) - The final defendant in a racially motivated beating in Brainerd has been sentenced to more than five years in prison.

The Brainerd Dispatch reports that 30-year-old Travis Campbell of Pequot Lakes, appeared in shackles before Crow Wing County District Judge Richard Zimmerman on Thursday.

Campbell pleaded guilty earlier to severely beating Willie Navy, who suffered serious head injuries.

Campbell and another defendant, 27-year-old Lucas Eastwood of Backus, were charged with attacking Navy after the three left a bar in downtown Brainerd on February 6th, 2011. Eastwood was sentenced in October to eight years and seven months.

The 54-year-old Navy attended Campbell's sentencing and says justice has been served.

Navy says he still suffers severe headaches and still has problems with his eyes.

Navy is black. His convicted attackers are white.
