ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud residents have the opportunity to make their mark on St. Cloud for the 2nd Annual Sidewalk Poetry Contest.

Contestants can submit up to two poems that are 250 characters or less. Poems will be judged by a panel of poets and community members.

The top five winners will get their poems stamped into the newly poured sidewalk along with a $100 cash prize.

Last year's winners are displayed in sidewalks along 25th Avenue South and tenth and 11th Avenue North.

Jennifer Penzkover with the St. Cloud Arts Commission says the City of St. Cloud pours new sidewalk annually and it's nice to incorporate the local talent.

The stamps are paid for by the Arts Commission who is sponsoring the event. The contest is open to all St. Cloud residents.

Each of the poem submissions will be on display at the Great River Regional Library for one month.

The deadline to submit your poetry is May 6th. The top five winners will be  be announced May 20th.
