SAUK RAPIDS -- Over two dozen people have applied to be the next superintendent of the Sauk Rapids-Rice school district. Interim Superintendent Bruce Watkins says 28 people are hoping to be the next superintendent at Sauk Rapids-Rice. Twenty of them already have experience as a superintendent.

The applications came in from nine different states.

The school board will be reviewing all of the applications this week and should name their three or four finalists by the end of next week.

Watkins says the finalists will be in town for on-site interviews on Wednesday, February 21st meeting with the board, administration, staff and the community. The school board is expected to name a new superintendent by the end of the month.

Watkins says the Sauk Rapids-Rice school district is an attractive one for the candidates because of its location, financial stability, and growing enrollment.
