The Apollo Eagles soared in 2013, continuing a recent upward trend. The Eagles lost their opening playoff game after losing their starting quarterback Ben Alvord late in the season to a hand injury.

Apollo finished with a 6-3 record and a share of the Central Lakes Conference South Division title. The Eagles fell to Moorhead 30-20 in the playoffs.

Head coach Justin Skaalerud is optimistic about his teams chances this season.

"We really feel confident where we are at," Skaalerud said. "Our numbers are great and we are really happy with that."

Alvord appears to be back to full health entering his senior season.

"Ben was all around the state attending camps this summer," Skaalerud said. "He is 100% entering this season."

The Eagles open the season on August 29th at ROCORI
