FOLEY, Minn. (AP) - Two St. Cloud police officers won't face charges for shooting and wounding a man during a standoff in October.

Benton County Attorney Robert Raupp concluded that Officer Eric Jensen and Sgt. Michael Koeniguer were justified in using deadly force.

Police say the two officers exchanged fire Oct. 3 with Nimesh Patel. The shooting happened the day after Patel's ex-girlfriend reported that he had held her and her son at gunpoint in their Waite Park apartment.

Patel was hit at least once in the head. The officers weren't hurt.

Patel was hospitalized for several weeks before being released and jailed in Stearns County. The St. Cloud Times reports he remains jailed in lieu of $750,000 bail.
