ST. CLOUD - In a matchup of two of the top ten teams in the country, the Huskies came out on top 5-3 to remain undefeated.

The #8 University of Minnesota-Duluth (4-3-2, 0-1-0) opened the scoring in the second period on a short-handed goal. #2 St. Cloud State (6-0, 1-0) answered just 19 seconds later with a goal of their own on the power-play. On the goal, Jacob Benson fired one into the top corner of the from close range.

UMD would take the lead back at the end of the period, but another quick response from the Huskies would tie the contest at 2-2 going into the third.

SCSU broke the tie in the third with a goal from Kevin Fitzgerald followed shortly by another goal from St. Cloud by Easton Brodzinski to make it 4-2.

The Bulldogs made it interesting with a goal to make it 4-3 with just under three minutes left in the game.

Jimmy Schuldt would ice the game with an empty net goal going nearly the entire length of the ice.
