2 People Hurt in 3 Vehicle Crash North of Rice

RICE - Three vehicles were involved in a crash on Highway 10 in Benton County. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened at about 6:00 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) near Halfway Crossing between Rice and Royalton.

A car driven by 87-year-old Richard Fountain of Royalton was westbound on Halfway Crossing when he failed to stop and broadsided a car heading south on Highway 10 being driven by 25-year-old Jaron Shodeen of Oakdale. They then collided with a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Jayde Serich of Cohasset.

Fountain has non life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Shodeen's vehicle, 20-year-old Kayla Buyense of Oakdale, also has non life-threatening injuries.
