2 Men Taken to HCMC After ATV Crash in Meeker County

LITCHFIELD - Two men have been hurt in an ATV crash in Meeker County. The Sheriff's Office says they received a call that a person was hurt and was being brought to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

Responding deputies learned there were actually two victims. They were identified as 20-year-old Brandon Brinkhaus and 23-year-old Mitchell Brinkhaus, both of Bloomington.

The incident happened at a home near Litchfield at about 12:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Investigators believe both men were riding in the back of a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle. They were in an area designed to haul cargo, not people. The ATV was traveling across an open field when it entered a tree line and crashed head-on into a tree.

Both men were taken to HCMC for treatment.

Deputies say the witnesses have been uncooperative, and the driver has not been identified.

Alcohol may have been involved in the crash.
