WILLIAMS (AP) — Preliminary autopsy results indicate two Twin Cities area men found dead in a boat on Lake of the Woods died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.

The Lake of the Woods County sheriff's office says a third man remained hospitalized Tuesday.

Authorities were called about 11:30 p.m. Sunday to an area near Birch Beach, north of Williams in far northern Minnesota.

When authorities arrived, they found the bodies of 44-year-old Lonnie Ray Norberg and 35-year-old Jeffrey Edward Wheeler, both of Champlin.

A third man, 43-year-old Christopher Andrew Klick of Crystal, was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. A nursing supervisor says Klick is in satisfactory condition.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
