FELTON (AP) - Two men have died in a collision between a beet truck and a pickup in Clay County.

Sheriff's officials say the pickup was headed south on Highway 9 near Felton about 11:15 p.m. Monday night when it crossed the center line and hit the beet truck. Two men in the pickup were killed.

The driver of the beet truck was injured and taken to a hospital. His condition is not known.

Clay County Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Empting says it's one of the worst crashes he's seen in his 18 years of law enforcement. Empting says extra caution is needed around trucks of that size.
