MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Dozens of tenants searched for a place to stay after their apartment building in downtown Minneapolis was significantly damaged by fire.

One resident suffering smoke inhalation and a firefighter who injured his back were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center after the fire broke out Sunday.

The Red Cross set up a temporary shelter for more than 50 displaced tenants at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.

Apartment manager Amy Simonson says residents were able to gather some of their belongings Sunday night, but weren't allowed to stay in the building.
