2 from St. Cloud Area Killed in Crash in Virgin Islands

ST. CROIX, VI -- Two people from the St. Cloud area have died following a two-vehicle crash in the U.S. Virgin Islands last week.

A report released yesterday (Wednesday) by the Virgin Islands Police Department says the incident happened at 8:15 p.m. last Friday night on the Melvin Evans Highway on the island of St. Croix.

A motorbike driven by 43-year-old Edwin Thornbury of Sauk Rapids was struck by a car. Thornbury and his passenger, 25-year-old Hannah Peterson of St. Cloud were thrown from the motorbike.

Thornbury was pronounced dead at the scene. Peterson was taken to the hospital where she later died.

The crash is under investigation.
