MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Two people are dead in a Minneapolis house fire after the first fire truck on its way to the scene got stuck in the snow.

WCCO-TV reports that the bodies of a woman and another person were found after the fire was put out early Sunday. Six other people were rescued from a porch on the second floor.

The names of the victims and the gender of the second victim are not immediately available.

Minneapolis Fire Chief Alex Jackson says the first responding crew's truck got stuck in the snow about a block from the scene of the fire. He says the fire hit at about the worst time possible.

It's not yet known what caused the fire.
