Twins Beat Rangers in Minneapolis
The Twins beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 Thursday night at Target Field when Alexi Casilla singled in Luke Hughes from 2nd base with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning. The Twins took a 4-1 lead when Michael Cuddyer hit a 3-run homerun. Nick Blackburn gave up a towering 3rd level homerun to Nelson Cruz in the 8th inning to tie the game at 4 apiece. Jim Hoey recorded the final 2 outs in the 9th inning to get the win. Nick Blackburn threw 7 1/3 innings with 3 earned runs allowed and didn't figure in the final decision. Delmon Young had 3 hits including a solo homerun for the Twins. Minnesota will host Texas again tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40. The Twins have won 7 of their last 8 games.
