14-Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shot in Aitkin by Father

AITKIN (AP) - Police say a 14-year-old Minnesota boy is in critical condition after he was accidentally shot in the neck by his father.

The boy from Aitkin was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. The Aitkin County Sheriff's Office says his father was cleaning a pistol Sunday night when it fired, hitting the boy.

A candlelight vigil was held for the boy Monday in Aitkin, which is about 30 miles northeast of Brainerd.
