1 Person Seriously Hurt In 3 Vehicle Crash In Kandiyohi County

KANDIYOHI - The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a head-on three-vehicle crash yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon in Kandiyohi county.

The incident happened at about 3:50 p.m. on Highway 12, just east of the town of Kandiyohi.

A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Jordan Volkenant of Milbank, South Dakota was heading west.  It was being followed by a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Craig Engelstad of Fertile, Minnesota.

The first vehicle cross the center line and collided with a third vehicle. Twenty-nine-year-old Kevin Vanvleet of Eden Valley, and 18-year-old Jacob Kalkbrenner of Litchfield were both in that vehicle.

Volkenant was flown to HCMC with serious injuries.
