MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — One person is dead after a house fire in south Minneapolis.

The fire broke out just before 11 p.m. Monday. Firefighters say they could see flames on the second floor when they arrived, and a victim was found inside the home. The victim died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

It's the second fire death of 2015 in Minneapolis.

Another fire broke out about the same time in north Minneapolis. Three people were able to escape that fire without getting hurt, but a firefighter suffered a knee injury.

Both fires are under investigation.
