MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police say the victim of a fatal stabbing near the University of Minnesota and the man being held in the death were acquaintances.

The victim was found wounded in a car in the Dinkytown neighborhood just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday. A police spokesman says the victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

University students have started moving into the area for the fall semester. But, police say the two men involved are not believed to be students.
