1 Man Dead, 1 Man Facing Charges After Wright County Snowmobile Crash
MAPLE LAKE - One man is dead and another man is facing criminal charges after a snowmobile crash in Wright County.
The Wright County Sheriff says the incident happened just before 1:00 a.m. on Sunday on Ramsey Lake in Maple Lake Township.
The preliminary investigation reveals that 20-year-old Charles Webb of Maple Lake, and his passenger 21-year-old Reid Ferguson of St. Francis, were riding a snowmobile at a high rate of speed when Webb tried to stop suddenly throwing them both from the sled. Neither of them were wearing helmets.
It's believed that alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Webb has been taken to North Memorial Hospital. Once he's released from the hospital, he's expected to be booked into the Wright County Jail and charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide.
