#1 Ranked Gophers Hockey Defeated For First Time

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The #1 ranked Gopher hockey team fell to the #4 ranked Notre Dame Irish 4-1 at the Compton Family Ice Area last night.

Ben Rust, Ben Marshall, Sam Herr, and Garrett Peterson all scored for Notre Dame in the victory. The Gophers had their lone goal scored by junior defensemen Ben Marshall in the second period.

Gophers goalie Adam Wilcox made 29 saves for Minnesota in front of the net.

The Gophers are now 5-1-1 this season. The two teams will face off again tonight at 6:05 p.m.
