1st Degree Murder Charges In Schunk Killing

A grand jury in Dakota County has indicted two people for first-degree murder in the death of a University of Minnesota student who was stabbed to death in a Rosemount town house. Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson, 32, and Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, were also indicted for second-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Anarae Schunk.

Sheriff's officials are providing additional details about two home invasions at rural homes in Minnesota that ended with a fatal shooting. Koochiching County Sheriff's Capt. Jon Froemke says a 34-year-old Twin Cities man with no history of criminal activity was at a resort for a friend's wedding when he broke into the first home on Highway 53 near International Falls about 5 a.m. Saturday.

Orono police say a Minnetonka Beach man was drunk when he fatally ran over his wife with his car. The Hennepin County attorney says David Meder is charged with criminal vehicular homicide or operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or more in 57-year-old Diane Meder's death.

Sheriff: 14-Year-Old Was Mother Of Dead Newborn

Watonwan County authorities have confirmed that a 14-year-old girl was the mother of a newborn found dead at a home in Butterfield. The sheriff's office says the teenager had delivered the baby at the home in southern Minnesota within a few hours of calling 911.
