Fire Damages Townhome in Cosmos

A fire damaged a townhome in Cosmos on Thursday morning. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened just after 11:15 a.m. at 370 North Neptune Street. Neighbors smelled smoke and saw flames coming from the front door of the townhome.

A 20-year-old man is dead after a shooting in a nightclub parking lot in Maplewood. A security guard tried to break up a fight between people who had been kicked out of the Stargate club at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Railroad Bridge Fire and Collapse Ruled Accidental

A fire that caused the collapse of a busy wooden railroad bridge near Minnesota's northern border has been ruled an accident. Koochiching County Sheriff Perryn Hedlund says fire marshals found no evidence of foul play and believe the fire was started by a mechanical failure. He didn't want to speculate on what went wrong.

Fired Monticello Nuclear Plant Worker Charged with Terroristic Threats

Prosecutors say a disgruntled contract worker at a Monticello nuclear power plant harassed and threatened union officials before police discovered he had a carload of explosive materials and ammunition. Fifty-eight-year-old Robert James Johnson, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is charged with three felony counts of making terroristic threats.
